GREEN QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Why are we being forced to choose between the economy and the environment? We tend to forget that without an environment we would not have an economy, as everything we consume and I mean everything comes from our environment."

~ Franke James (contemporary artist, photographer, writer)

Green Globes

Green Globes

I’m a minimalist person. I hate waste regardless if things are abundant or not. To me, it is not just paper materials that take a lot of energy and resources to create but everything else that we buy and consume. So instead of buying new materials to create my artwork, I chose to collect things that have already reached their life line and then give them a new purpose.

Dark Clouds 2: Looking deeper into Beijing's Air Pollution & China's policy response

Dark Clouds: Beijing's Air Pollution Policy

On January 12th this year, Beijing set its all-time record for air pollution levels, as PM 2.5 concentrations reached 30 times WHO standards for healthy air. Since then, while there has been much media coverage about the issue, there has been little detailed information about the actual chemical composition of PM 2.5.

On April 24th, Greenpeace in collaboration with Peking University school of health released the results of a scientific study to fully understand the toxicity levels of PM 2.5 in Beijing in January.
